Nausea
I have had tremendous success treating patients with nausea
while working in Connecticut (CT). A
Duke University Medical Center study has found that acupuncture is more
effective at reducing nausea and vomiting after major breast surgery than the
leading medication.
Food Nausea
This pattern is very common, and experienced by anyone that has eaten tainted
food. The onset is sudden and can
include vomiting, alternating chills and fever, and severe diarrhea.
Sluggish Stomach
Slower than normal emptying of the stomach causing nausea, causes
include overeating and weakness in the muscles of the stomach itself.
Stress Disrupting Stomach
Emotional issues frequently disrupt the stomach, causing acid reflux,
constipation, diarrhea, nausea, and sometimes vomiting. IBS is frequently diagnosed when the
patient has a week digestive system and the system overreacts to normal
emotional events.
Medicine Stomach
I have seen this with patient undergoing chemotherapy and those taking
prescription drugs. The medication
disrupts the digestive system which can cause other problems.
Antibiotics are a perfect example of a
medication that disrupts the digestive system. The focus of my treatment when
treating someone undergoing chemotherapy is to strengthen the digestive system.
The ability to eat and absorb calories and nutrients is paramount in the
patient’s ability to fight disease.
Stomach Organ Tissue Deterioration
Deterioration of the stomach lining due to acid reflux, smoking, drinking,
or drug use, the actual lining of the organ is damaged. The treatment of this condition is
complicated because we need to address the symptoms and cause.
