Headaches
Headaches are a common complaint in Connecticut (CT). There are 10 types of
headaches in Chinese medicine. We need to be careful, certain headaches require
immediate medical attention, so I recommend you see your medical doctor prior to
scheduling an appointment for acupuncture. I’ve outlined the headaches I
commonly treat in Connecticut (CT).
Dampness Headaches
I have seen this type of headache frequently during my years in practice. The
patient complains of having a headache with a feeling of heavy headiness and the
condition worsens with damp weather. The distinguishing symptom is the head
feels heavy.
Stress Headache
I see this type of headache every week. Sometimes it presents like a migraine on
one side or both sides of the head, and frequently behind one eye. This condition is aggravated by
stressors including flashing lights and changes in the weather.
Hormone Deficiency or Imbalance
Headache
I have seen this headache frequently.
Depending on the patients age the imbalance is ether and excess or
deficiency. In young adults and
middle age adults we see imbalances in hormone levels causing this pattern of
headache.
Fatigue Headaches
Also a very common type of headache, over work, lack of exercise of vacations,
patient collapses on the acupuncture table, fatigue, weak voice, loose stools,
cold hands and feet.
